Heidi Salonen (Aalto University, Finland) co-hosted one symposium on Exposure and adverse health effects of children in day-care centers, schools and other public indoor environments. This session focused on children’s exposure to microbiological, particulate and gaseous pollutants of indoor air in day-care centers, schools and other public indoor environments, as well as adverse health effects caused by those pollutants among children. The session also addressed the means to reduce exposure and health effects.
The InChildHealth Walkthrough Survey for School environment was presented by Katrin Vorkamp (Aarhus University, Denmark). Here the discussion focused on the standardized characterization of classrooms for Indoor Air Quality studies in Europe.
