From June 17–21, 2026, InChildHealth research was presented at the SETAC Europe 36th Annual Meeting, held in Maastricht, the Netherlands.
Paula Guedes (Aarhus University, Denmark) presented a poster on children’s exposure to airborne chemicals in schools and homes in Denmark. She showed results from the InChildHealth T1 campaign, run in seven European countries. For the measurements in Denmark, the team from Aarhus University, led by Katrin Vorkamp, collaborated with partners from IDAEA-CSIC (Spain), and Aalto University (Finland).
The work highlighted exposure to emerging and well-known indoor pollutants, including fluorotelomer alcohols (FTOHs), which are precursor PFAS, pesticides, aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and other chemicals, underlining the importance of considering combined chemical exposures. The conference provided a valuable opportunity to present the InChildHealth project to the environmental health research community and to engage in interesting discussions about technical details as well as the bigger picture.
