The workshop on Guidelines and recommendations for school environments was chaired by Heidi Salonen and Katrin Vorkamp.
During the first part of the special session InChildHealth project partners presented the following topics:
- Recommendations for assessments of semi-volatile organic compounds (SVOCs) in school environments – presented by Katrin Vorkamp
- Perspectives on guidelines and recommendations for ventilation and indoor air quality in European schools – presented by Ulla Haverinen-Shaughnessy
- Ensuring healthy school environments: Suggestions for managing indoor air pollutants – presented by Heidi Salonen
- Creating healthier school environments using science-based recommendations on airborne particle control developed through the InChildHealth project – presented by Susana Marta Almeida
- Guidelines and recommendations for microbial exposure management in school environments – presented by Robert M.W Ferguson
Afterwards all participants were asked to discuss in groups around chemical, particle and microbiological guidelines and/or recommendations for school environments. Conclusions were shared at the end of the session.
